AI in Media – Dump the Silo! How to Achieve a Holistic AI Approach while balancing Innovation, Quality, and Responsibility

From building journalistic core teams around data and AI to a network approach, this talk will focus on learnings how Bayerischer Rundfunk implements AI in a public service broadcaster.

For TX Group, as a multi-faceted enterprise spanning media to advertising, it is crucial to explore the opportunities, challenges, ethical considerations, and social responsibility associated with these technologies. In light of the growing independence within our subgroups, I will elaborate on our strategy for overseeing AI-centric projects throughout the organization.
We see potential in using these rapidly evolving techniques around ML & AI, for example, to reflect our product, unlock valuable insights and foster transparency within TX Group. But more than that, generative AI empowers journalists to meet the demand for personalized and local news while still addressing the model’s current weaknesses and safeguarding our quality standards.

This talk will be co-presented with Dominic Herzog.
