Selina Gasser

Strategy & Consulting Manager Banking

After eight years in the world of opera and theatre as a dramaturg, producer and director, Selina discovered that managing a theatre project might not be all that different from managing IT projects. This realization led her to Accenture, where she stepped onto a new stage as a Project Manager and Business Analyst, specializing in Analytics topics. Since then, Selina has lent her expertise to various Swiss financial institutions and banks. Her work primarily involves processes redesign, use case portfolio creation and project delivery – particularly in the field of Data & AI. As an SME for Data & AI in Banking, Selina is passionate about enabling her clients to unlock the value of their data.

Data Driven Company – Insights into Building a Data & AI-driven Retail Bank

In 2022, PostFinance embarked on a voyage to draw value from its newly built data platform and become a  data-driven company. Since then, the emergence of GenAI into the market has disrupted the playing field even further and is a challenge that PostFinance is eager to accept. Yet, how does PostFinance go about to become Switzerland’s first Data & AI-driven retail bank?

Join the PostFinance team and their partner Accenture for the story of how they set up an entire business unit to deal with all matters of Data & AI – a business unit whose only purpose it is to help the employees at PostFinance to discover, use and harvest the value of Data & AI.

The presenters will provide insights into the initial setup of the initiative, into how they built a portfolio of Value Cases and they will shed light on two of the most promising Value Cases from the area of Gen AI: PostFinance GPT – the soon-to-know-it-all internal chatbot – and CodeBuddy, who helps developers and testers write code and save precious time. Also, the presenter will provide insights into the difficulties they faced when implementing GenAI and share their lessons learned when it comes to shaping and implementing use cases. In addition, the presenters will also talk about enabling activities around Data & AI literacy to upskill its employees with a diverse learning portfolio.

This talk will be co-presented with Janick Mischler.
