Global Director, Cloud for Sustainability

As the Global Director, Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability and chair of Microsoft’s Sustainability Employee Resource Group & Community (10K+ employees), Matt has been building the pathway for Microsoft’s acceleration of sustainability initiatives aligned with Microsoft’s goal to become carbon negative by 2030 leveraging technology and AI. Overseeing and building out multiple strategic partnerships, implementing sustainability transformation for customers, and activating the partner and community ecosystems, he is helping to drive Microsoft’s sustainability strategy & execution around the world.

Before joining Microsoft, Matt designed, built and scaled GE Digital’s commercial organization in Asia and the Americas, he held multiple roles within GE business units living in Nigeria, South Africa, India, Singapore, and Canada. Additionally, Matt previously worked in various climate & foreign policy roles at The U.S. Department of State on U.S.-China and U.S.-Australia relations.

He holds an M.B.A. from The George Washington University School of Business, and a B.A. in International Affairs, Economics. & Asian Studies from The Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University.

Who is deciding on the topics?

The program is selected by an independent board of customer representatives and delivered by cloud practitioners and experts. Content is selected to provide maximum benefit to participants through relevant topics, innovative insights, and clear, actionable takeaways. 

When will the 2024 program be released?

Our board members are currently reviewing speaker submissions to decide which talks to bring to the Cloud Leadership Day stage.

The first round of speakers will be announced at the end of February, so stay tuned!

When and where does Cloud Leadership Day take place?

Cloud Leadership Day will be on June 19, 2024, from 7am to 5.30pm CEST, followed by informal drinks and networking.
