From Zero to Global: Cloud Deployment in Under Two Years

Dentsply Sirona is well-known in the dental industry for its broad portfolio of hardware and software. From CAD/CAM solutions to medical device software used in diagnostics, dentists and laboratories use our products daily to help their patients.

However, with dentists seeking more comprehensive support for their workflows, we faced a challenge in shifting our focus from incremental product improvements to holistic solutions. In response, we introduced DS Core, a new online platform for digital dentistry. In less than two years, we transformed from developing on-premise products to deploying a global cloud platform.

In this talk, we take you on a journey through the last two years from a software R&D perspective. We’ll discuss where we started, the challenges we faced and overcame (and some that still need solving), and where we ended up. Join us to learn how we adapted to reach our goal of developing a platform that is changing the way dentists work.

About the Speaker Thomas Fitze

Thomas is a Software Architect for the interactive 3D rendering solution that powers DS Core. During his 7 years with Dentsply Sirona, he has worked on Dentply Sironas CAD solutions with a focus on computational geometry, 3D interactions, and hunting down elusive software bugs.

For whom is Cloud Leadership Day?

Cloud Leadership Day brings together over 800 leaders and experts from across industries to share their experience and insights on the latest trends, best practices, and strategies related to cloud transformation. 

Who is deciding on the topics?

The program is selected by an independent board of customer representatives and delivered by cloud practitioners and experts. Content is selected to provide maximum benefit to participants through relevant topics, innovative insights, and clear, actionable takeaways. 

When will the 2024 program be released?

Our board members are currently reviewing speaker submissions to decide which talks to bring to the Cloud Leadership Day stage.

The first round of speakers will be announced at the end of February, so stay tuned!

When and where does Cloud Leadership Day take place?

Cloud Leadership Day will be on June 19, 2024, from 7am to 5.30pm CEST, followed by informal drinks and networking.
